The Gate of Honour at Gonville and Caius, Cambridge. From a drawing I made in 2012.
One of three gates at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge intended to symbolize a student's intellectual journey. Designed by Dr John Caius and built around 1575 it is one of the earliest examples of the Italian Renaissance style in England. The Gate of Honour is in the form of a small triumphal arch leading to Senate House Passage and is surmounted by a six-sided sundial.

The Gate of Honour is in the form of a small triumphal arch leading to Senate House Passage and is surmounted by a six-sided sundial. The proportions went awry with the door far too narrow and so I did not complete it. A future challenge. I'll start with the triglyph and metope spacing first. Pen on paper 220 x 260mm
